Who we are

The Community for Behaviour Analysis is a community made up of professional behaviour analysts and those interested in the application of behaviour analysis.

At the heart of our work is compassion, community and connection. We are proud to stand for inclusivity, respect and meaningful peer support - creating space where everyone belongs and thrives.

Grounded in person-centred, neuro-affirming behaviour analysis, we honour the rights, values and strengths of every individual we serve

Our Values

Community

We are a group bonded through our unified vision of seeing lives in Northern Ireland thrive

through the application of the science of behaviour. We are a community of practice, founded

in our common interest and professional application of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

Inclusivity

We believe every person matters and we value them for who they are and respect their rights

to belong and have meaningful relationships. We are a community of beliefs, mission,

messages and operations that seek to uphold our value of inclusivity.

Respect

How we treat ourselves and others lies at the heart of our community. Respect means accepting

people for who they are, regardless of any differences. Through demonstrating respect, we

build meaningful relationships, trust, physical and psychological safety, and wellbeing.

Our Mission

We will work with Applied Behaviour Analyst practitioners, students and service providers in

the community, statutory and private sectors in NI to build a supportive community of

practitioners, foster skills and development knowledge, improve professional practice and

promote a positive image of the benefits of Applied Behaviour Analysis.

We will do this through the provision of training, continuous professional development, peer

to peer support, and provide resources to foster a thriving community of compassionate

practitioners improving the lives of communities and individuals through healthy, desirable

and socially significant change.

Compassion

Our compassion motivates our collective desire to take actions that improve lives. At the heart

of our science, lies our empathic, personalised compassion to ethically apply behaviour

analysis in desirable ways that deliver real socially significant change for people. As a

community, we seek to respond to human suffering through professional and effective services,

demonstrating care, understanding, patience and kindness. As a community, we seek to

demonstrate compassion to others as well as ourselves.

Support

A key purpose of our community is peer support. We believe in the value of helping each other

and ensuring people are heard and assisted. We encourage productive, meaningful and healthy

life choices.
